Studio Pop Ups
We are so excited that you will be joining us for a Pop Up with Slow Road Photo. Here are all the details to help you prepare for a super fun Picture Day experience!
What to Expect
Hello Slow Road Families! We are SO excited to see you all and serve you with beautiful photos at a Slow Road Studio Pop Up. We know how hard it is to get the crew together for photos, so we are here to make this process simple as can be. Do you ever find yourself having a hard time committing to a full blown family photo session because all you really need are “just few good ones”? We SEE you! These Pop Ups are just for you. Whether it’s for seasonal cards, gifts, or simply getting an updated image of the people (and pets) you love most, we have you covered!
BEFORE your Pop Up
Let’s go over what to expect before, during and after your time with us to ensure we give you the BEST experience possible. First, a quick recap of the details:
LOCATION: Studio Pop Ups take place at the Slow Road Studio in New Brighton, MN. From time to time, we will offer outdoor Pop Ups at parks in the area, so keep your eyes open for that!
DETAILS:
5 minute session with a $60 booking fee.
For Family Pop Ups:
15+ final proofs to choose from, delivered in both color and black & white within 2 weeks from your Pop Up date.
For School Picture Day Pop Ups:
3 candid and beautiful moments for each child will be delivered as final proofs in both black & white within 2 weeks from your Pop Up date. If your photographer captured sibling photos, those will be included as well!
Prints, gifts, and digital downloads available for purchase for purchase from your personalized gallery. Please note that these products are not included with your session fee- you will have the opportunity to purchase packages and individual prints/downloads from right inside the gallery that we email to you.
DURING your Pop Up
The time you are scheduled for is when the photo magic will BEGIN, so it is extra important that you arrive to your scheduled time early enough to be all ready to go. There’s a bathroom next door to the Slow Road Studio where you can change and touch up hair and makeup. There is also plenty of room to get comfy at the Studio while you are waiting for your session, so feel free to arrive a few minutes early so you and your fam can settle in!

Your session will be fast, but also low key, relaxed, and SUPER fun! A Slow Road Certified Photographer will guide your family though positions and posing that is comfortable and authentic to you, capturing you, family, and/or your pets in your element! No saying “cheese” around here! Instead, we will let you do what you do best- be yourself! We’ll take care of the rest. And the best part is that your session will be done before the little ones in your group even know we have begun!
AFTER your Pop Up
Once your session is complete, we will get to work editing and making your photo dreams come true! We will reach back out to you within 2 weeks to deliver your proofing gallery and guide you through the process of ordering your images. If at any time you need extra support we are here to help!
How to Prepare
We want you to feel prepared and confident going into your session! Here are some tips to help you end up with gorgeous photos (and a super fun experience with us)!
What to wear: Every Pop Up has its own theme, from Holiday Cards to School Pictures to Celebrating Love, and lots in between! We will do our best to fill you in on what the backdrop of your Pop Up will look like. When in doubt, we like to suggest that you stick to 2-3 main colors, and try to keep everyone in the photo within that same color family. Textures, patterns, and polkadots can all look fab together as long as the colors are similar. And at the end of the day, our mantra is that authentic is always best. Does your little buddy wear his Superman costume 24/7? Why not use this Pop Up as a chance to capture him in all his glory? 😂
Your Arrival: Please make sure to take a look at the directions to the Studio HERE and plan your arrival accordingly. Also, we have a Dairy Queen next door- just saying. We are not above bribery for kids AND partners!
What to bring: We LOVE when families bring things to their session that are sentimental to them- kiddos with favorite stuffed animals make the cutest pictures on the planet. Also, if you want to make your photographers dreams come true, bring your pets!! We have seen it all- snakes, puppies, turtles, bearded dragons… bring them all!
